When the 'Parish Hall' Dun Mhuire was being built, Fr. James Cummins asked the schools of the town to put on a concert for two nights each to help pay off the debt. This was done. The first year the Faythe School produced 'The Enchanted Rose', an operetta based on the story of the Sleeping Beauty.
In 1963 'Pearl the Fishermaid' was performed as last part of a longer concert. The opening item at this concert was Mary Queen of the Universe, a tableau by Sr. Callista. Joan Devereux took the part of Mary and all the infants were the cherubs holding up her veil. Mary Morris spoke the words of the prayer. Sr. Aloysius had a group of Irish Dancers and Sr. Clotilde, at that time teaching 5th Class, produced a piece called Winter Wonderland.
It actually 'snowed' on stage. Little pieces of polystyrene were sprinkled from the flies of the stage. 'Pearl' starred Claire Rowe, Pauline Murphy, Kathleen O'Brien and Susan Browne. Anne Kelly, a past pupil, came to do the choreography. She is now Anne O'Leary the principal teacher of the highly successful Wexford School of Ballet and Modern Dance.
