Before Christmas, the children in room 4 went on a bus to the new County Council building as part of the Junior Achievement Programme. Prior to the visit, Ger Mulhall from the County Council had been visiting the school every Tuesday and speaking to the class about the local area, his job in the Council and the different uses of the lands in the Wexford Town area.

On our visit to the Council Headquarters in Carricklawn, we saw the Council Chamber where we met and were addressed by the Chairman of the County Council, Councillor John Hegarty. On the day we were given a tour of the rest of the Council building and we also saw Ger’s own workstation within the building. The children found the trip very interesting and were very attentive throughout. It was a most enjoyable day and a nice lead-in to the Christmas Holidays.
