One Card per Child per Class / Wellness Wednesday Deferred

This is the fourth year in succession that all children and families are asked to consider taking part in the 1 Card per 1 Child per 1 Class initiative which has proven popular with adults and children alike.

We are asking all children in the school to try to bring in ONE CHRISTMAS CARD only.

We are asking all children in the school to write this one card to their TEACHER AND ALL THEIR FRIENDS IN THE CLASS.

This has 5 positive effects.....

  1. Families do not have to buy (and probably write) loads of cards.
  2. Nobody feels isolated or alone / everybody gets the same card / everybody is treated the same.
  3. It is much cheaper to only buy one card
  4. A load of paper / card is saved which is great for our green school  campaign.
  5. A lot less paper and card is thrown into the recycling bins which is great for John, our caretaker.

We hope everyone will agree to this 1 Card for the Class initiative again in 2018!

Thanks in anticipation.

With three teachers absent tomorrow (on in-service) Wellness Wednesday / No Uniform Day has been deferred until next Wednesday 12th December.

On that day children can wear their own clothes (no high-heels, wheelies, sandals) and we are asking each child to bring in one coin for that privilege.

All children will be asked to 'break-in' to their own savings for this coin which is not a 'Mammy or Daddy' tax!!!

All monies collected will be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society which does great work in and around the town all year but especially around Christmas time.

As ever, your very generous support of this group in hugely appreciated.
