3rd Class went to the Library on Mallin Street on Tuesday 21st May 2019 and having witnessed the metamorphosis of frogspawn to frogs in the foyer over the past few months they were really in tune for Ciarán from the Irish Wildlife Trust who spoke about biodiversity and how we can look after our wildlife in Ireland.

Comments from the children in the class!

A.H. – I loved when we were learning about water, food, recycling and more.

K.N. – I loved the video about the dragon fly.

L.B. – I learned that bio diversity is everything in nature.

R.F. – I learned that low biodiversity means not a lot of life and high biodiversity means a lot of life.

C.R.S. – I enjoyed the pictures of the animals. My favourite was the red squirrel.

J.R.B. The main thing I learned was that places can have high biodiversity and low biodiversity.

I.S. - I learned that biodiversity is anything alive.

J.S. – My favourite part was when the man was talking about squirrels habitats. I learned that bacteria is a living thing. I also didn’t know bees hibernate.

J.J. – I really liked the videos about the animals.

M.B. – My favourite part was when I looked at the dragonfly video where it was in the water.

J.J. – I learned that dragonflies can live under water.

S.M. – I really enjoyed when we learned about the lizards because I have a pet bearded dragon which is a lizard.

J.H. – We learned how animals and plants are important to our everyday lives.

Z.S. – The thing I liked was when the man said create a quiet corner in your back garden for wildlife to live in naturally.

J.C. – I learned that biodiversity is everything that lives.

S.L. – I learned that dragonflies can live under water.

T.J.D. – I learned that moss and plants are actually living.

A.F. – I liked the lizard video.

V.M. - We learned that medicine comes from different types of plants.

A.C.P– I learned that when dragonflies are underwater about to eat something, their jaws shoot out.

M.M. – At school our teacher said that we were going to the library. We were talking about food, water, air, plants, animals and even wildlife animals.
